My first blog post – Erin Bigg Cosmetics product review

So I have quite a few ideas whirling around in my head that I want to share with you guys so it was hard to pick what my first blog would be about.  I finally managed to decide that I wanted to share with you all a new brand of products that I have been using recently and that I absolutely love!  Not just as a professional makeup artist but also as an everyday consumer.

On the 25th of February 2013 I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of Erin Bigg Cosmetics!  Erin Bigg is a phenomenal Brisbane based makeup artist and I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to assist her on some jobs which is where I first heard that she was in the process of developing and launching her own makeup line.  Needless to say I was very excited by this news as who else would know how to create and launch a makeup line better than a makeup artist themselves?!

After having a play with the products at the launch I couldn’t decide what to buy so I came home and trawled through her website for ages looking at every product and every colour and made a few (cough many) purchases.

One of my absolute favourite products from Erin’s range is the Baked Finishing Powder in Matte Bronze. This product is TO DIE FOR!! I now use this as part of my own everyday makeup routine as well as using it in my professional kit.

Having a very fair complexion myself I have always struggled to find a bronzer/finishing/contouring powder that is suitable for me to wear. I find that I can’t really wear your traditional bronzers as they just have way too much orange in them for my skin tone so when you can imagine my absolute delight when I saw this product!

You can see from the picture that it is not orange at all and the marbled effect of the light and dark brown ensure you get enough of each colour on your brush and makes this finishing powder suitable for almost every complexion.

I mainly use this as a contour when I use it on myself but for those that have a slightly darker complexion you could easily use this as an all over powder or choose from one of the other to gorgeous colours – Satin Glow or Matte Bloom (picture below).
